Filtering & Focus

A large report can list dozens of patents across several technical aspects. Filter & Focus lets you narrow the whole report down to exactly the slice you care about — without losing anything. Nothing is deleted; the filter just changes what you're looking at, and you can clear it to see everything again.

Available on every report, from the top action row.

Opening the filter​

Click the filter control (the funnel icon) in the report's top action row. A panel appears and stays pinned to the top of the screen as you scroll, so your current focus is always visible and one click away.

Ways to narrow the report​

  • By aspect (focus). Pick one technical aspect to focus on. The report — including the patent counts — narrows to just that aspect, so the numbers you see always match what's in front of you. This pairs naturally with Review Mode: focus an aspect, review it end to end, then move to the next.
  • By patent holder (assignee). Show only the patents held by a particular company. The list is drawn from every assignee actually in the analysis, not just the top few.
  • By verdict. Show only the patents that landed a particular way — for example only the potential-risk findings, or only the cleared ones.
  • By legal status. Show only granted patents, only pending applications, and so on.
  • By publication date. Set a From and/or To date to keep only the patents published (or granted) before a date, after a date, or between two dates. Leave one side empty for an open-ended range.

You can combine these — for example, granted patents from one assignee, published after 2020, with a potential-risk verdict.

Seeing what a filter catches​

As you set a filter, the panel lists the matching patents right there, each with its publication number, verdict, and assignee — so you can see the effect of the filter at the control itself, before scrolling into the report.

Clearing it​

Clear the filter at any time to return the report to its full state. Filtering only affects your current view; it never changes the analysis or removes anything permanently.
