Running an Analysis

A short guide to getting a defensible result — the inputs, the scope and tier choices, and where your input most improves the analysis.

1 · Prepare the subject-matter input​

Upload a document that describes the invention or product with technical specificity — a specification, an invention disclosure, a technical description, or a detailed deck. The analysis is only as good as the description of the subject matter: the more precisely the document sets out how the product works — its components, mechanisms, and interactions — the more accurately Evalify can decompose it into chartable aspects. Marketing-level material yields a correspondingly shallow analysis.

2 · Review and curate the aspects​

Before the full run, review the technical aspects Evalify extracted. This is the highest-leverage step in the whole workflow: confirming, sharpening, or adding aspects — and seeding key concepts — directs the search and charting at what actually decides the matter. Treat it the way you would scoping the search terms in a manual clearance.

3 · Set the territorial scope​

Select the jurisdictions relevant to where the product will be made, used, or sold. Scope drives both the search corpus and the assessment, so set it to the matter — over-broad scope adds noise; too-narrow scope misses exposure.

4 · Choose the tier​

Match the analysis tier to the matter:

  • Lighter tiers — fast triage or budget-constrained early screens.
  • Counsel Grade — the professional-depth tier: the fullest search, charting, and analysis, for clearance work where the output needs to withstand scrutiny.

5 · Run it​

The analysis runs server-side and takes a few minutes; you don't need to keep the session open, and you'll be notified when the report is ready. A run that fails is not charged.

6 · Review the work-product​

Open the report and work through it critically — start with the FTO score for orientation, then the aspect-level findings and the claim charts, which are the evidentiary basis for the read. Use the interactive assistant to interrogate specific findings. See Reading Your Report.

7 · Place the matter under monitoring (optional)​

For an active matter, enable monitoring so the analysis is re-run on a schedule and you're alerted to material changes in the landscape against it.
